Black
Eagle Retreat is situated in the stunning Elands Valley. We are
surrounded by breathtaking scenery. We have 4 very comfortable chalets
overlooking a beautiful dam stocked with Black Bass and fishing is
permitted on a catch and release basis. In addition to the chalets we
have a brick-built cottage situated overlooking the mountains in a
private setting. There is an abundance of bird life at the
retreat including black eagles which nest here. Close by there are many
attractions including hiking, climbing and abseiling, The Sudwala caves
and horse riding which is all less than an hour away. The nearest gate
to Kruger Park is only an hour and a half from us. Nelspruit is less
than an hour away and has many attractions including the Riverside mall
and casino and the famous botanical gardens.
The chalets have their own bathrooms, bedrooms, living area
and kitchen space equipped with cooking facilities, a fridge and
kettle for self catering. There is a stoep from where you can
enjoy the scenic views. We also provide a braai and a supply of
wood. All linen is also provided but please bring your own
towels. You can also purchase braai
packs, charcoal and ice here.
The
cottage is very spacious and has
a living room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms
(both en-suite) and a stoep and braai area with fantastic views
of the mountains. It can sleep up to 8 people.
We have the Eagle's Nest pub & Restaurant on site which
is open all day for drinks as well as delicious home cooked
breakfast lunch and evening meals. We also have a newly
developed garden featuring 3 laapas and 2 braai areas. We are a
family run business and pride ourselves on our friendly and
professional approach ensuring that your stay is thoroughly
enjoyable. The Black Eagle Retreat is
easy to find, in the heart of the Elands Valley on the N4
Highway just 15km's from Waterval Boven and 75km's from
Nelspruit. The access gate is on the N4, once through the gate,
follow the lane for half a kilometre where you will see the pub.
