Country Lodge. This luxurious, family-run retreat is a haven of peace
and tranquillity, where only the wildlife disturbs the silence -
especially the abundant birdlife, which includes the distinctive
longcrested eagle and spectacular purple
crested lourie. With its African ambience, Longcrested Eagle Country
Lodge is the perfect base from which to experience the pride of South
Africa's conservation efforts, the Kruger National Park, which is a
short and easy drive away. Many guests enjoy the convenience of a safari
into the Park and to other destinations, by day or by night (when the
big cats hunt).
Four luxurious air-conditioned en-suite rooms, each decorated
individually in style with modern necessities such as personal
safes, bathrobes, mini bar, telephone
and television. In room coffee and tea facilities are also
available. An old time favourite is our five, two bedroom
thatched chalets and three one bed roomed chalets, nestled in a
beautiful indigenous garden, each with a private covered patio
from which to watch the spectacular African sunrise. Each are
equipped with certain Dstv channels, kitchenette, patio with
braai and telephone. Relax at the swimming pool with its sundeck
whilst overlooking the valley of the Sabaan River. There is also
a squash court for the more energetic. Our library boasts a
wonderful selection of books on Africa and its wildlife.
